Customers Bert and Mieke Woltheus
Bert and Mieke Woltheus are the happy owners of the Boarncruiser 1200 Elegance Nauti. ‘The Elegance is really a showpiece of the boatyard, a yacht of our time,’ says Mieke. Bert and Mieke fell for the modern model of the Elegance. ‘We were looking for a boat without a lot of steps inside,’ says Mieke, ‘because all that running up and down the stairs no longer works for me. There weren’t many boat types like that, but the Elegance does have everything on one level.
Our boat was two years old when we bought it in 2018 and had only 200 cruising hours. It looked like new. We could simply step on board, so to speak. One thing we had modified was the bench seat in the front. When I sat on it, I couldn’t see much forward. A ‘co- steering chair’ was custom-made for me. We remove a seat and back cushion from the bench and the chair can then stand there. The chair is also easy to take away again. Now I can just watch along while sailing.’
Bert adds: ‘Others often say we are polishers, and perhaps that is true. Even though the boat is now six years old, it still looks like it was just delivered.’ Mieke: ‘When we come aboard, we clean first and after an hour and a half we leave the harbour.’
Bert and Mieke are on the road a lot with their yacht. The first year they toured the Netherlands. The second year they sailed the Maas, Moselle and Rhine, and they plan to call at Berlin. ‘In 2022, we sailed all over the Netherlands and also had our grandchildren with us for a week. We have three little ladies aged 10, 8 and 6, but not all three wanted to go with us at the same time. One-on-one we had them on board. What a treat! They then grab the Fischer Price binoculars and marvel at how close everything then gets. They also do this sitting on their beds in the second cabin on board. Through the window they watch what passes by. All three say it’s ‘our cabin.’‘
Bert returns briefly to the boat’s name. ‘Our daughter was living in Finland at the time and we wanted a distinctive name. After
some searching we ended up with Nauti. In Finnish that stands
for enjoyment and now that we are retired and get to sail on this beautiful Elegance, we think enjoyment ts us and the boat perfectly.’
