For many owners of steel motor yachts, the primary question has been, “How can I achieve speeds beyond 10 knots without sacrificing onboard comfort during navigation?” The answer to this dilemma remained elusive for decades, until now.
The solution comes in the form of the new Boarncruiser Ocean models (CE category A). Boarncruiser has meticulously designed an entirely new round-bilged, semi-displacement hull with an optimized shape, resulting in increased speed, exceptional sailing characteristics, and, significantly, fuel efficiency—an essential consideration for both sustainability and cost-effectiveness. This innovative round-bilged, semi-displacement hull still retains the well-known advantages of a traditional sturdy displacement yacht: excellent stability, enhanced safety, expanded living space, and superior comfort for year-round sailing.

“Sport”

This groundbreaking development in the steel motor yacht market was conceived through a close collaboration with our Italian naval architect and valued business partner, Hull Vane®. In addition to the aforementioned benefits, our primary objective was to achieve a top speed of 16 knots (approximately 30 km/h). Advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analyses provided invaluable data for optimizing the hull shape, total weight, weight distribution, and fluid dynamics at various speeds. These CFD analyses were conducted in tandem with the installation of a Hull Vane® at the stern. This sophisticated hydrofoil reduces drag, minimizes stern waves, reduces noise, and generates speed and lift, ensuring optimal stability from slow speeds to the maximum speed of 16 knots.

“Comfort”

The new Ocean series design prioritizes onboard comfort at a high level. These Ocean series yachts are solidly built vessels without compromise, devoid of unnecessary stairs, extra steps, or platforms. Every inch of onboard space is both functional and readily accessible for storage, servicing, or upgrades. The Boarncruiser Ocean represents a perfect fusion of modern design, superior quality, power, and cutting-edge engineering.
Thanks to its sophisticated and newly designed hull shape, the Boarncruiser 53 Ocean boasts low fuel consumption compared to other steel motor yachts of similar 35-ton weight. For example, equipped with twin Cummins QSB6.7 380 HP engines, this long-range motor yacht can cover up to 2,000 nautical miles at 6.5 knots (approximately 11 km/h) while providing the capability to navigate through adverse weather conditions at sea.

“Semi Custom Built”

The Boarncruiser Ocean Series is available in three different sizes: 53, 58, and 65 feet, with models offered in either Coupe or Flybridge versions.
All Boarncruiser yachts are semi-custom built, meaning that while the hull and superstructure are pre-designed and fully engineered by Boarnstream, the remainder of the yacht can be tailored to the buyer’s preferences, ideas, and specifications. This includes the interior layout, materials used throughout the yacht, technical components, and other aspects not explicitly mentioned.
