The year 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of Boarnstream!

In 1964, Henk Hokwerda founded Jachtwerf de Boarnstream with the vision of building ships. During the presentation of the Hiswa Excellence Award in 2010, he stated, “I want to be remembered as someone who left behind a beautiful company that builds timeless and high-quality products.” Over a decade later, his daughter Wies Hokwerda has been at the helm, and Henk’s wish has come true. Boarnstream is now a thriving international company that has delivered over 1200 ships, a shipyard where customers enjoy coming, and people love working.

“I am truly grateful that we can celebrate this 60th anniversary next year with all these people and that my father gets to witness it,” says Wies Hokwerda.

To commemorate the 60th year of Boarnstream, various events will be held throughout 2024. In addition to a book detailing the history of Boarnstream, a special Boarncruiser Elegance Aft Cabin edition will also be released.

Construction of new office

After the completion of the new production and refit halls (2500 m2) in 2019, on January 15, 2024, the first foundation was laid for the construction of a new office. This office building will be integrated into the current Skipshus building, originally designed for vessels up to 82 ft. The goal is not only to create additional office spaces and a larger cafeteria but also to establish an area for welcoming clients, showcasing vessels, and featuring a materials showroom where customized options can be explored by owners.

The project is set to be completed in the 3rd quarter of 2024.
